Within a few minutes guests can experience the Country Club Plaza, authentic jazz and blues clubs, historic City Market, the American Royal or the excitement of the river boat casinos. The towns of Weston, Parkville and Greenwood, Missouri provide an eclectic blend of shops and galleries. Many of the antiques in the Vickers home were found on short day trips to these areas. If your travel plans include a trip to KCI airport, Fort Leavenworth or to Kansas University in Lawrence, you will find it an easy 30 minute drive. The Bonner Springs area boasts of Verizon Wireless Amphitheater, the Agricultural Hall of Fame, the annual Renaissance Festival, the Kansas International Speedway Cabela's Outfitters, and Nebraska Furniture Mart. Nearby is the Westglen 18 movie theater, Harley-Davidson store, Wagners Classic Cars and the Moon Marble Co. which features a wide selection of nostalgic toys & games, antiques and marble making demonstrations. Other points of interest include the Grinter House, historic Harris House and Holy-Field Vineyard and Winery. Area restaurants are numerous and varied. Highly recommended by previous guests are : Red Fortune - A family owned and operated Chinese restaurant in downtown Bonner Springs. Paulo & Bills - Upscale Italian cuisine.
